Privacy policy

A household is a private place. We build like it.

HelperTrack holds the small daily details of how your home runs — attendance, pay, meals, tasks. This page is the long version of what we do with those details, and what we don’t.

01 — What we collect

The smallest set we can run the app on.

When you sign up, we collect what the app needs to do its job — and stop there. We don’t collect your contacts, your photo library, your call history, or your other apps.

Practically, three buckets:

  • Account details.Your name, email or mobile number, language preference, and a hashed password. For helpers, the same — plus an optional photo and address if the family adds them.
  • Household records.Everything you log inside the app: attendance, pay, meals, tasks, notes, and chats between you and your helper. This is the data that belongs to your home.
  • Technical signals. The app version, device model, OS, language, and anonymous crash logs. Used only to keep the app stable. Never linked to household content.
info We do not collect precise location, biometrics, contacts, call logs, SMS content, microphone or camera access (unless you explicitly tap to attach a photo), or third-party advertising identifiers.
02 — How we use it

To run your app. That’s it.

Household records are used to render what you see, sync between the family and helper apps, generate monthly statements, and send the reminders you turn on. They are never used to train AI models, sold to anyone, or shared with advertisers.

Account details are used to sign you in, recover your account if you lose your phone, and bill you if you’re on a paid plan. Technical signals tell us which screens crash so we can fix them — they don’t tell us anything about your home.

If we send you the occasional email about a feature or change, you can turn that off in Settings → Notifications. Critical account and billing messages always go through, the same way your bank’s do.

03 — Where it lives

On Indian servers, encrypted in transit and at rest.

HelperTrack data is stored in data centres located in India, operated by our cloud provider (AWS Mumbai). Encryption in transit uses TLS 1.3. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256.

Access from our team is locked down by role, logged, and reviewed monthly. Engineers don’t routinely browse household data — when a debugging session genuinely needs it, that access is time-boxed and recorded.

We make daily encrypted backups, kept for thirty days. Backups are stored in the same Indian region.

04 — Who we share with

A short list of vendors. No-one else.

To run HelperTrack we use a small number of vendors. Each one is contractually limited to what they need, and contractually prohibited from selling, reusing, or learning from your data.

AWS (Mumbai region) Hosting and database storage. All data resides in India. Infrastructure
MSG91 OTP delivery for sign-in. Receives only the phone number and the one-time code. Login OTP
Razorpay Payments for paid plans. Receives billing email and amount; never household data. Billing
Sentry (EU region) Anonymous crash reports. Stripped of names, phone numbers, and household content. Crash logs

We do not share household data with the government or any third party except where required by a valid, legally-binding order under Indian law — and we will tell you when we receive one, unless the order itself forbids us.

05 — Your rights & choices

You stay in charge of your record.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can access, correct, or delete your data, and you can withdraw consent. We’ve built each of these into the app so you don’t need to email anyone:

If something here doesn’t work the way you expect, write to privacy@helpertrack.in. We respond within seven working days — usually sooner.

06 — How long we keep it

Only as long as you’re using HelperTrack.

While your account is active, household records stay available so you can look back through them — that’s most of the value of the app. If you delete a specific entry inside the app, it’s gone from our live systems immediately, and from backups within thirty days.

If you delete your account, we remove the whole record within seven days. Billing receipts are kept for the period Indian tax law requires (currently eight years), with all household content stripped out.

If your account is inactive for 24 months we’ll write to you, then delete it if you don’t respond within 30 days.

07 — Cookies & the website

The marketing site uses two. The app uses none.

The website you’re reading right now uses a small cookie to remember whether you’ve dismissed the language selector, and a second one to keep you signed in if you visit your account page. That’s the entire cookie list — no analytics scripts, no Facebook pixel, no Google Tag Manager.

The mobile apps don’t use cookies at all. They use a secure auth token stored on your device, which you can revoke from Settings → Devices.

08 — Children

HelperTrack is built for adults running a home.

The service is not intended for users under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If a household uses HelperTrack to track meal plans or school runs that involve children, the only data we hold is what the family chooses to type in — and it is treated with the same privacy as the rest of the household record.

If you believe a child has signed up directly without a parent’s knowledge, write to privacy@helpertrack.in and we’ll remove the account.

09 — Changes to this policy

If anything material changes, you’ll know.

We’ll post the new version here, update the “last updated” date at the top, and link the previous version below for comparison. If the change is meaningful — anything that affects how your data is collected, used, or shared — we’ll also send you an in-app notice and an email at least 30 days before it takes effect.
